BOSS members will have the opportunity to hear directly from the Bank of England at a virtual event next month.
Taking place from 12-1pm on 30 September, the free session will be presented by Graeme Chaplin, the Bank of England’s Agent for the West Midlands & Oxfordshire.
Chaplin will provide an accessible overview of how the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee sets interest rates with the aim of keeping inflation low and stable over the longer term.
The presentation will also consider the challenges posed by the current economic and geopolitical environment and how these influence monetary policy decisions in the UK.
Chaplin joined the Bank of England in 1992 and has held roles in areas including banking supervision, economic analysis and financial stability monitoring. He has been Agent for the West Midlands & Oxfordshire since 2008.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the session, while questions can also be submitted to BOSS in advance.
