DCC, the owner of tech and business supplies distributor Exertis, has announced it will focus the group around its Energy division.
In a strategy update, the Ireland-based group said its energy-related activities presented the largest growth opportunity for maximising shareholder value. Consequently, preparations are already underway for the sale of the DCC Healthcare unit, which is expected to be completed in 2025.
Meanwhile, “strategic options” are being considered for DCC Technology, the division in which Exertis sits. DCC does not appear to be in a hurry to offload the business – it said the review would be concluded “within the next 24 months”.
In a separate press release, Tim Griffin, CEO of Exertis IT said he was “excited” by the DCC announcement, adding: “This is a great opportunity for our Technology division as we explore the possibility of new ownership. We’d like to reassure our customers and vendors of our commitment to them, to adding value, to delighting all our partners and enabling their success.”
Exertis confirmed DCC would continue to support it financially and “ensure a smooth transition to the right partner”.
