What’s something new happening in your life right now?
I suppose my job! I only joined the Kimberly-Clark Professional team at the end of September. As you can imagine, there has been a lot to learn and, most importantly, the chance to make new connections in the channel.
What’s the weirdest online purchase you’ve ever made?
A few years ago, I got into cold water therapy and bought a stainless steel ice bath, an ice machine and a chest freezer to store the ice. I kept it up for about 18 months, but it’s now been sold – it was just too much maintenance.
Best concert you’ve ever been to?
The last concert I went to was The Happy Mondays. It might not have been the best concert I’ve ever attended, but it was fantastic to relive my youth – plus, who doesn’t want to watch Bez dancing with his maracas?
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
That would probably be being told I’m a good dad.
What topic do you enjoy talking about the most?
I can talk about almost any topic, but I can chat for hours about sport – especially football. However, it’s hard to have much credibility with friends these days, supporting Blackburn Rovers!
Do you collect anything?
Over the years, I’ve discovered a love of gin, and at its peak, I had over 150 bottles in my collection. My favourite so far is Forest Gin from Macclesfield. The problem is that my wife keeps drinking them too.
Favourite sport?
I’m a Blackburn Rovers fan and have a season ticket with one of my daughters – whichever one I can bribe to come with me.
What’s your karaoke song?
A Little Respect by Erasure.
Name three items on your bucket list.
Attend the Super Bowl, visit the Far East and open a gin bar or restaurant.
If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Relax! I often find it hard to switch off, so it would be great to calm my mind and spend more time travelling the world with the family on a private jet.
What’s your favourite place to visit?
I visited New York City last year on a trip to the US with friends and loved everything about the place. We stayed on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River and I never got tired of looking out at the Manhattan skyline.
Tell us a secret that your work colleagues don’t know about you.
I have known my wife since I was a toddler, as our parents were close friends. There was a period in our late teens and university when we didn’t see each other, but we bumped into each other again in our early twenties and have been together ever since.
The photo was taken when I was about six and used on our wedding invites – everyone thought it was computer-generated!
Favourite holiday so far?
I’ve enjoyed some fantastic trips to France with my wife and friends. There’s nothing better than good red wine, amazing food, cheese and great company.
Or maybe it was just that the grandparents looked after the kids and we got a break away for some peace…!
Who is the most famous person you’ve met?
Brian O’Driscoll was in my gym when The Open was being played at Royal Birkdale. Of course, I asked for a selfie, even though I’m not much of a rugby fan! I also met Paul Hollywood once while away on a work trip.
