Plymouth-based wholesaler JGBM has achieved ISO 14001 certification as part of its wider sustainability strategy.
The accreditation follows a year-long internal review and implementation process aimed at embedding sustainable practices across the business. JGBM said the milestone reflects its ongoing commitment to minimising environmental impact and supporting greener operations throughout the supply chain.
A key figure in the project was Environmental Science undergraduate Sonu Thapa who joined the company on a placement and helped guide departments through the ISO process. Thapa played an instrumental role in raising awareness and driving the adoption of more sustainable standards across the organisation.
As part of the changes introduced, JGBM now uses 100% renewable energy and has significantly reduced plastic in its packaging, opting for recycled or reused materials instead.
The ISO 14001 announcement follows the recent launch of JGBM’s Ecoscore platform which provides detailed sustainability data on technology products and is designed to support dealers and their customers in making more informed procurement decisions.
