IT distributor Northamber has named Darren Spence as its new Group Managing Director.
Spence will lead the business as it looks to strengthen its value-added proposition and support the next phase of development across its core channel markets. Northamber said the appointment forms part of a wider effort to reinvigorate its distribution model and deepen engagement with reseller partners.
Spence brings more than 27 years of experience in the IT channel, having held senior roles across distribution, reseller services and consultancy. Most recently, he was Chief Revenue Officer at Smartbox.ai. He has also served as Managing Director of Bytes Document Solutions and as founder and Managing Director of Boost Technology Group.
Northamber Executive Chairman Alex Phillips said the company had strengthened its executive leadership to support its growth ambitions, adding that Spence’s operational and commercial experience would help the distributor build a more proactive, value-added model across areas such as AV, unified communications, cybersecurity and network infrastructure.
Spence said he was joining the business at a pivotal time in its evolution and would focus on demonstrating the value a distributor can bring to the channel, both for reseller partners and employees.
