UK reseller Sovereign Business Solutions Group has achieved carbon neutral status for the second consecutive year.
The Birmingham-based company first achieved certification under the Carbon Neutral Britain framework last year after measuring, calculating and offsetting selected Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
Sovereign said retaining carbon neutral status represented another milestone in its environmental journey, but stressed it was not the “finish line”.
The reseller plans to build on the achievement by continuing to review its operations and identify practical ways of reducing its environmental impact. A key focus will be working with suppliers to encourage responsible sourcing, reduce waste and explore more sustainable approaches to products, packaging and deliveries.
Sovereign also said it wanted to help customers make informed purchasing decisions that support their own environmental objectives without compromising on quality, value or service.
“Achieving carbon neutral status for a second year is something we are extremely proud of, but it is only one part of a much bigger commitment,” the company stated.
“We will build on this progress year after year, working alongside our employees, customers, suppliers and partners to create lasting, positive change.”
Sovereign said some improvements could be implemented immediately, while others would require longer-term investment and collaboration.
