Spicers has said that a new trade counter service has got off to a good start.
The dedicated trade counter at the company’s Ashton-under-Lyne headquarters is aimed at serving all dealers in the Greater Manchester district and surrounding areas. The company said a soft launch involving two long-standing customers saw a rise in sales of almost 176% on these accounts.
The new service enables dealers to place multiple orders throughout the working day and collect them from 7 am the next morning. Spicers said this allows users to consolidate shipments and make delivery fleets more efficient by curbing overhead costs, maximising in-house efficiencies and reducing carbon footprints.
“We hope this move demonstrates our commitment to improving customer satisfaction, listening to feedback, and putting the dealers’ needs at the heart of our operation,” said Steve Morley, Sales Director at Spicers. “In addition, we are the only wholesaler that offers this service in the UK.”
The wholesaler is looking to expand the trade counter service offering. A second phase will allow dealers to place emergency orders throughout the day which will then be available for collection after just two hours. Spicers said this would enable customers to provide an “unrivalled” service against ‘big box’ competitors.
