European visual communications and office furniture supplier Rocada has established a subsidiary in the UK as it looks to grow in the UK and Irish markets.
The Spain-based family-owned manufacturer established Rocada UK as an entity a few months ago and the new subsidiary will officially begin trading on 10 October. The company has drafted in Ken Trenberth as a Director to run the operation. Trenberth is a familiar face in the UK business products sector, particularly from his time at Setten & Durward and then Rapesco. He is charged with launching the Rocada brand into the market, and will be initially focusing on gaining traction in the office products channel, especially with mid-market resellers.
Rocada has two manufacturing facilities and central warehousing in Barcelona, and its products have been distributed from there to the UK for some time. However, the establishment of Rocada UK now means it will stock product locally – via a third-party logistics partner in Leicester. This will mean a wider product range, shorter lead times and the possibility of smaller orders, leading to a better customer service proposition. As well as distribution to resellers, Rocada will also be offering a full drop-shipping programme.
Trenberth told Workplace360 that, initially, Rocada will go to market in the UK with a selection of its viscom, presentation and seating products, but that the range will evolve over time. He has been working closely with ES Tech Group and product data is now available through the Fusion Plus portal. He added that there would still be the option of having larger and bespoke orders shipped directly from Spain.
Rocada CEO Marc Roca commented: “Investing in local stock of our unique product solutions will offer an exceptional service to all our partners. We will work hard to build trust in Rocada UK and look forward to discussing our fantastic product offering.”
